11th edition of the Frozen Open Surf Contest 2014

The most eagerly awaited surf competition of the year on the beach at La Marinedda

A sensation-packed August at the La Marinedda bay at Isola Rossa. This beach in Northern Sardinia is one of the most sought after destinations  by surfers from all over Europe for its beauty and its waves. The beach at La Marinedda has become synonymous with sporting excitement and lots of fun for young and old alike thanks to the many events that see new champions crowned every year.

Featuring some of the youngest competitors, the Nesos  King of the Grommets competition ended Sunday, August 17, having enjoyed its second edition and valid as a stage of the Fisurf (Italian Surfing Federation) Italian Junior Championship.

Thanks to the efforts of the Nesos Surf Club, organizer of the event,  young future surfing stars each in their respective category (under 12 - under 14 - under 16), competed among the waves that crash onto the beach at La Marinedda.

Now the spotlight is on the Frozen Open, which is celebrating its 11^th edition. TheWaiting Period for this highly anticipated event started on August 1 and will continue until the arrival of ideal weather conditions for the running of the competition. The green light will indicate the start of the competition and will bring together seasoned surfers ready to tamethe highest waves and decide the winner of the tournament.

Up for grabs is a top cash prize of €5,000 and the satisfaction of winning one of the most prestigious and longest running surf contests in Italy.

After the competition, the evening continues with an electrifying beach party open to all, to celebrate the event with an ice cold beer and lots of good music.
