Wine therapy, increasingly in vogue in recent years, has its roots in ancient Greece. In recent years, thanks to research undertaken in the Bordeaux region of France, the benefits of grapes in aesthetic terms have been re-evaluated and are especially recommended to prevent skin ageing.
Sardinia is a land rich in vineyards and the Cannonau grape is the most widespread of all. Compared to other grapes the renowned black fruit turns out to be three times richer in polyphenols, multifunctional ingredients contained in the seeds, stems and skin of the fruit. Cannonau grapes have a powerful antioxidant effect on the skin, which stimulates the production of collagen and prevents the formation of wrinkles. In the “Elisir di Giovinezza” facial treatment, the soothing and moisturizing action of grapes is linked to the positive cosmetic effects of helichrysum, a fragrant plant that is common on the island which relaxes and regenerates the skin. The exfoliating action is carried out using obsidian, a typical volcanic stone from Monte Arci which is rich in magnesium and iron while oranges and lemons stimulate cell renewal and give radiance to the skin.
